Pesterly vs TaxDome
TaxDome is practice management — CRM, billing, e-signature, portals, workflows. Pesterly is not; we do exactly one job. If that job is the one hurting, the comparison is worth two minutes.
| TaxDome | Pesterly | |
|---|---|---|
| Reminders send from | TaxDome's infrastructure. Client-facing mail is TaxDome-shaped, and portal invitations are the classic “my client never logged in” support thread. | Your own Gmail — the thread your client already replies to. There is no login for them to avoid. |
| What the client must do | Activate a portal account, remember credentials, navigate the portal. | Click one link. No account, ever — it works forwarded to a spouse and one-handed on a phone. |
| Scope | Everything a practice runs on: billing, workflows, signatures, organizers. | Document chasing only. We refuse portals, practice management and OCR on purpose — you keep your suite; we fix the one broken loop. |
| Where files end up | TaxDome's document management. | Your own Google Drive, owned by you from upload one. |
| Setup | An implementation project — worth it if you're moving your whole firm in. | Connect Gmail, paste your client list, send the first chase — minutes, not a migration. |
Where TaxDome is genuinely better
If you want one system for the entire practice — billing, signatures, workflows, organizers — TaxDome is built for that and Pesterly isn't trying to be. Plenty of firms run both: the suite for the practice, Pesterly for the chasing, because chasing is the part clients actually feel.
A portal your client won't log into collects nothing. An email from you, in the thread they already answer, does.
